About Me

Hi, I’m Emily (she/her), and I’m passionate about pregnancy, birth, new babies, sleep and supporting families at such a crucial time in their lives!

I strongly encourage and advocate for an informed, holistic, attachment centred approach to labour, birth and the early weeks and months.

I have over 25 years’ experience working with children and babies all the way from newborn twins to teenagers – including as a Nanny, Night Maternity Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist/Maternity Practitioner, Antenatal/Hypnobirthing teacher and as a Holistic Sleep Coach. I have cared for multiple children with complex medical needs, often overnight, and have extensive training in all aspects of child care and development.

I love helping new parents prepare for their new arrival by understanding what to expect during labour and birth and exploring the options they have and choices that could arise, enabling them to approach birth feeling confident, empowered and in control, even if they are thrown a curveball and plans have to change.

  • Antenatal/Hypnobirthing classes – either 1:1 (6-8hrs), or in group sessions of 4 x 2.5hrs (usually 4 consecutive Monday nights, each month).
  •  Postnatal – 6 weeks x 1.5hr classes
  •  Baby care – can offer 1:1 or small private group bookings

Specialism

As a Newborn Care Specialist alongside my antenatal teaching, I offer practical, gentle, and respectful support and advice – empowering new parents (and parents to-be), encouraging them to trust their instincts and their babies, to know what they need. I’m a huge advocate of the 4th trimester, gently supporting babies to transition into the big wide world, particularly over the first 3 months, while encouraging a natural rhythm and routine to form, that works around the needs of both the baby and the rest of the family,

I love helping new parents prepare for their new arrival by understanding what to expect during labour and birth and exploring the options they have and choices that could arise, enabling them to approach birth feeling confident, empowered and in control, even if they are thrown a curveball and plans have to change.
